People in the Outback

People come to work here from all over the world.
There are many different nationalities working in the Mines and in the services in Cloncurry.
These two paintings represent the different people of the Outback.
Sisters represents the friendships formed by women who live alone and have to create their own groups and liaisons. Interactions shows the interactions of women as they create their own lives in an Outback Society.
The Outback lures people to work for the high wages and the special conditions of work. The women come as independent workers and work in the same trades as the men.
Many come with partners, but soon they too seek to belong to the Community through interactions.
